Im Wintersemester 2003/2004 bildete sich im Zusammenhang mit einer Lehrveranstaltung im Fach Ostkirchenkunde an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Heidelberg eine kleine Gemeinschaft von Studierenden und Doktoranden, die den Gottesdienst nach der Ordnung der Ukrainischen Lutherischen Kirche feiert.

Since winter 2003/4 a small group of students and postgraduates of the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg University celebrates divine services in the byzantine slavonic rite. By doing so they follow the up to now rather unknown tradition of the Ukrainian Lutheran Church, who has maintained a reformed adaption of the liturgy of John Chrysostom. Meanwhile the order of services has been edited and enriched by tunes and melodies which are popular easy to be sung. There exists already a traslation into the Czech language. A sound recording is also available. In this time when the strangeness between the churches of the east and the west have not yet been overcome we try to meet the way of the Eastern churches even within Churches of reformatoric character.
